I am inspired by the organic qualities of tree and root forms and also natural rock and stone formations. Their forms reveal their history through looking at their surfaces and textures.

My recent work makes references to standing stones and gate stones. I try to create their abstract organic forms. The forms are kept minimal and simple in order to enhance their purity and refinement. Also the surfaces are almost white minimal texture, so that when light is shown on the surface, the shadow creates positive and negative space on the form.

I build the forms by the coil building method and use stoneware clay. For the surface I spray vitreous white slip and fire them at 1100 C.
